从事眼科学和视光学工作20余年，擅长近视屈光手术、圆锥角膜治疗和高度近视后巩膜加固术，致力于青少年近视防控和高度近视并发症诊治。带领天医视光团队在天津市开设第一个儿童近视防控门诊，配合市教委搭建120万学生视力健康大数据平台、培训校医、开展全市近视防控科普和质控工作。在天津市开展病理性近视后巩膜加固术10年，采用后巩膜收缩术治疗病理性近视后巩膜葡萄肿和黄斑劈裂；聚焦自身免疫性干眼临床诊治、干眼发病机制和免疫眼药水研发。在我市率先开展圆锥角膜角膜交联联合RGP治疗。积极参与东西部帮扶和白内障复明工程，自2014年起，连续8年赴甘肃天水第四人民医院进行对口帮扶，培训和组建眼科团队；自2019年起，连续三年赴西藏昌都开展“健康光明行”行动。发表专业论文120余篇， 第一或通讯作者SCI论文70余篇；主编、参编眼科论著8部，主译2部；主持承担国家自然科学基金3项，与天津大学合作国家自然科学课题1项，天津市科委课题3项，天津市教委社科重大立项项目1项；获天津市科技进步三等奖2项（分别为第二、第五完成人），授权专利12项，软件著作权1项；曾入选天津市高校“中青年骨干创新人才培养计划”、天津卫健委“津门医学英才”、“天津市滨海新区杰出科技人才培养计划”项目；获第四届“国之名医，优秀风范”、天津市卫健委“天津名医”荣誉称号。
